The idea
Lodi's balance broke in fourteen ninety-four when the French king invaded for Milan, and France, the Empire and Spain fought over Italy into the fifteen thirties, the papacy one more warlike state. Italy was drained; only the Papal States stayed independent.

The Medici exiled the same year.
