The Lost ARC / Unit 8 ARC 184 worked example, 60 to 90 seconds
Do People Feel Connected?
The idea
The book's relatedness chapter ends with five diagnostic questions a leader can ask about their own team, answered by what actually happens rather than by intention.
In practice
Step one: can you name one personal interest, concern or aspiration for each person who reports to you? Step two: do people collaborate voluntarily, or only when required? Step three: who might feel isolated, and when did you last act to include them? Step four: do people seek you out for conversation beyond tasks? Step five: when someone is absent, does the team notice and respond, or does the absence go unremarked?
Where people slip
The book's matching practice is small: extend one genuine invitation this week to the person who seems most disconnected, an act of attention rather than a programme.
