The idea
Role conflict is the tension between the demands of two or more different roles a person holds at the same time.
In practice
A caregiver who is also a grandparent is needed at a hospital bedside and a grandchild's recital at the same hour.

The roles are each satisfiable alone; the conflict is that both are held.
