The Four Economic Sectors

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Economies are analyzed by sector: primary extracts raw materials, secondary manufactures finished goods, tertiary provides services, and quaternary produces ideas and information.

Show

A miner works the primary sector, a factory worker the secondary, a nurse the tertiary, and a researcher the quaternary.

Watch for

A developed economy is not free of the earlier sectors; it shifts what share of its workforce each sector employs.
