B.C.E. and C.E.: The Exam's Convention

The idea
The sheet notes that the exam uses the chronological designations B.C.E., before the common era, and C.E., common era, which correspond to B.C. and A.D. in some textbooks. The course uses the exam's labels throughout and voices them as letters; "A.D." appears only inside a quoted title.
In practice
Fourteen fifty-three C.E.; thirty-five hundred B.C.E.
Where people slip
Same years, different labels.
