Norms and the Normal Curve

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Norms are the distribution of scores from the standardization sample, and intelligence scores are scaled to a normal curve.

Show

Scores are set so that the population average is one hundred and most people fall within fifteen points of it.

Watch for

The distribution is imposed by scoring, not discovered. The curve is a design choice made explicit.
