Amplitude and Wavelength

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Amplitude is the height of a wave and wavelength is the distance between its peaks; both are physical, not perceptual.

Show

Two light waves of equal wavelength and different amplitude differ in brightness and not in color.

Watch for

Physical properties and perceived qualities are different vocabularies. Wavelength is physical; color is perceived.
