Reuptake is the process by which a neurotransmitter is pumped back into the neuron that released it, clearing the synapse.

Serotonin left in the gap after signaling is drawn back into the sending neuron and stored for reuse.

Watch for

Clearing the synapse is not cleanup. Without it, the next signal cannot be distinguished from the last.
