The idea
Eudaimonia—flourishing, a life going well as a whole—is virtue ethics' goal: virtues are the traits a flourishing human life requires.
In practice
Not a passing feeling but a whole life's shape—which is why Aristotle said one swallow does not make a spring.
Where people slip
"Happiness" is the common translation and a misleading one—a pleasant mood is neither necessary nor sufficient.
