The idea
Cryotherapy uses extreme cold, from a very cold liquid or an instrument called a cryoprobe, to freeze and destroy abnormal tissue.
In practice
Substances such as liquid nitrogen are used; freezing is one of several ways warts can be removed.
Where people slip
Extreme cold injures any tissue it touches, so handle the materials exactly as trained.
