The idea
Distributing a term in the conclusion that wasn't distributed in its premise is an illicit process — illicit major or illicit minor, by which term offends.
In practice
All dogs are mammals; no cats are dogs; ∴ no cats are mammals. "Mammals" distributed in the conclusion, undistributed in its premise. Illicit major.
