Leading AI at Work: Governance, Rollout and Practice / Unit 1 LAI 013 worked example, 60 to 90 seconds
Running Governance Checkpoints
The idea
An organizational pattern adds a few questions to the governance a department already runs, and the book names three of them.
In practice
Step one: at a solution review, ask to see the Packs for the solution, and note which core things have none. Step two: ask which things have traceability matrices, and whether the high-risk things are among them. Step three: ask how the Packs were validated with real users, and who took part. Step four: record each gap as an action with an owner and a date, rather than as a reason to stop the project. Step five: at the next checkpoint, start by revisiting those actions, so that the questions build a habit instead of a one-time hurdle.
Where people slip
A checkpoint that only blocks teaches people to hide gaps. The book's checkpoints are questions, and their value is in the answers they surface, so treat a weak answer as work to schedule, not as a failure to punish.
