Evaluating a Change: Now or Later
The idea
The book's Toolbox checklist for evaluating a change adds a decision to the walk The M-CaReM-AI Method teaches: what changes now, and what waits.
In practice
Step one: identify the things the change affects, and note which are Gold. Step two: open each thing's Pack and ask whether its definition or lifecycle changes, or new fields or states are needed. Step three: open the matrix for each Gold thing and highlight the rows the change touches. Step four: list what must be revisited, from policies and cards to AI models and prompts. Step five: mark the must-change items, those touching legal duties, safety or critical functions, and the should-change items; record anything delayed as known debt. Step six: plan the work as stories that name the things and cards, with Pack and matrix updates as tasks.
Where people slip
The book's point is that this needs no large review board: one focused session with the right people and the right documents. Recording delayed items as known debt is what keeps a deferral from becoming a forgotten gap.
