Looking at Faces
Captions available
The idea
Infants prefer faces to other patterns from about two to three months, and the way they scan a face changes with age.
In practice
At one month the hairline and chin; at three to four months the eyes and mouth; at nine months, mostly the eyes.
Where people slip
By three months, infants look longer at female faces when the primary caregiver is female.
