Heavy drinking is most common among male college students, and young adults' substance use raises the risks of mental-health problems, risky sex, violence, injury and crash deaths.

Cannabis use disorder associated with schizophrenia, most strongly in young men, in a large registry study.
Where people slip
Association is not proof of cause: people vulnerable to psychosis may also be likelier to use cannabis.
