Appraisal of qualitative work asks whether the results are plausible and believable, and whether the reader is imaginatively drawn into the experience described.
In practice
An account that conveys what the experience was like to someone who has not had it.
Where people slip
This criterion has no counterpart in quantitative appraisal and is not decoration. Conveying the experience is part of what the work is for.
