Evidence-Based Practice / Unit 1 EBP 0047 short lesson, about 20 seconds
Barrier — No Consequences, No Authority
Captions available
The idea
A lack of consequences for not implementing evidence, and a lack of autonomy or power to change practice, are barriers to EBP.
In practice
A clinician who identifies a needed change and cannot authorise it.
Where people slip
These two are opposite ends of one problem: nothing compels the change and nobody is permitted to make it.
