Evidence-Based Practice / Unit 2   EBP 0176 short lesson, about 20 seconds

Prognosis or Prediction Questions

Captions available

The idea

A prognosis or prediction question asks about the likely course of a condition over time, comparing one prognostic factor against another.

In practice

Whether one factor predicts an outcome better than another over a defined period.

Where people slip

Prognosis asks what is likely to happen, not what to do about it. Mixing the two produces a question no design answers.
