Two Kinds of Clinical Question
Captions available
The idea
Clinical questions come in two kinds: background questions and foreground questions.
In practice
What is this condition, against does this intervention change this outcome in these patients.
Where people slip
Neither kind is the lesser. Asking a foreground question before the background is settled wastes a search, because the terms to search with are not yet known.
