Evidence-Based Practice / Unit 10   EBP 1365 short lesson, about 20 seconds

What a Good Measure Requires

Captions available

The idea

A measure must be rigorously developed — valid and reliable — incorporate the patient's voice, and use consistent language so that data are accessible and comparable.

In practice

A measure defined the same way across organizations, so their figures mean the same thing.

Where people slip

Consistent taxonomy is what makes comparison possible. Two organizations measuring differently cannot be compared however careful each is.
