Outcomes Management, in Four Phases

Captions available

The idea

Outcomes management was set out as four phases: measure indicators at baseline; compare current practice with best practice from the literature; implement the initiative; analyse process and outcomes.

In practice

A baseline taken, the literature consulted, a change made, the result analysed.

Where people slip

Phase one comes first for a reason. A change made without a baseline cannot afterwards be shown to have done anything.
