Captions available
The idea
Book One follows the Redcrosse Knight, knight of Holiness, with Una, whose parents a dragon holds captive. Redcrosse is deceived into deserting her for Duessa, her false double. The anchor reads Una as truth and the true Protestant church, and Duessa as the Roman Church.
In practice
The true lady, and her two-faced copy.
Where people slip
The religious reading is the anchor's.
