Waiting for Godot
Captions available
The idea
Waiting for Godot, written in French and first performed in nineteen fifty-three, shows two tramps, Vladimir and Estragon, waiting for someone named Godot who they believe will save them and who never arrives. Little happens, and the second act nearly repeats the first.
In practice
Two men waiting for no one.
Where people slip
Godot never appears.
