The Executable

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

An executable is a program stored inside a computer — a byte sequence on disk, waiting until a command, a click, or a voice request sends it into memory to run.

Show

A megabyte-sized editor is roughly a million stored bytes holding still.

Watch for

Stored and running are two different lives.
