The idea
Propaganda is information worded to endorse a particular viewpoint, often political; two common types use the bandwagon and fear.
In practice
A campaign that describes a nation in dire danger and then names one candidate as the solution uses fear propaganda.
Where people slip
Propaganda also persuades by omission, as when a recruiting poster promises travel and training but leaves out combat.
