Interval Notation

The idea
Interval notation writes a stretch of real numbers by its endpoints — brackets include an endpoint, parentheses exclude it, and infinity takes a parenthesis.
In practice
[2, 5) holds every number from 2 up to but not including 5; (−∞, 3] holds everything through 3.
Where people slip
Interval notation is this course's default answer form for solution sets.
