Wavelength and Frequency Are Inversely Related

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

For any wave of fixed speed, wavelength and frequency are inversely proportional: as one increases, the other decreases.

Show

Among visible light, violet light's short wavelength corresponds to a high frequency, while red light's long wavelength corresponds to a low frequency.

Watch for

Inverse proportionality means the product of wavelength and frequency stays fixed — neither quantity varies on its own.
