The Periodic Law
This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.
State
Under the periodic law, elemental properties repeat at regular intervals when the elements are ordered by atomic number rather than atomic mass.
Show
Arranging elements by increasing atomic number places lithium, sodium, and potassium in one column, each showing similar reactive chemical behavior.
Watch for
Mendeleev's table used atomic mass; the later shift to atomic number resolved ordering problems the mass-based table could not fix.
