A colligative property of a solution depends on the number of dissolved solute particles present, not on their chemical identity.

Equal-concentration solutions of sucrose and ethylene glycol produce the same boiling-point elevation, since both add the same particle count.

Watch for

"Colligative" means particle count is what matters — swapping one nonelectrolyte solute for another of equal molality changes nothing.
