Constructing a Phase Diagram
This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.
State
A phase diagram plots pressure against temperature, combining liquid-gas, solid-liquid, and solid-gas equilibrium curves into one map of stable phases.
Show
A point's pressure and temperature coordinates fall inside one of three labeled regions on the diagram: solid, liquid, or gas.
Watch for
The curves show phase boundaries where two phases coexist, not the phases themselves — the regions between them show that.
