The Clausius-Clapeyron Relation

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

The Clausius-Clapeyron equation relates a liquid's vapor pressure to its kelvin temperature and enthalpy of vaporization, plotting as a line in logarithmic form.

Show

Vapor pressures at two different temperatures are enough to calculate a liquid's enthalpy of vaporization from this one relationship.

Watch for

Temperature must enter in kelvin — using Celsius produces a result with no physical meaning.
