Partial Pressure and the Diffusion Gradient

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

A gas's partial pressure is the portion of total pressure it contributes; gas diffuses across a surface from higher to lower partial pressure until equalized.

Show

Oxygen's higher partial pressure in inhaled air than in blood drives it into the bloodstream.

Watch for

Each gas follows its own gradient — oxygen and carbon dioxide diffuse opposite directions at once.
