The sensory-somatic nervous system carries sensory information from skin and muscle to the nervous system and motor commands out, via twelve cranial and thirty-one spinal nerve pairs.

The olfactory nerve carries only sensory information, while the oculomotor nerve carries mostly motor commands to eye muscles.

Unlike the autonomic relay, sensory and motor neurons here use only one synapse to the central system.
