State
A standing vertebrate divides by three anatomical planes: sagittal, splitting left and right; frontal, splitting front and back; and transverse, splitting upper and lower.

A transverse cut separates a goat's upper body from its lower body, producing what doctors call a cross section.
Watch for
"Frontal" and "coronal" name the same plane — front-to-back, not top-to-bottom.
