The idea
Fruits also classify by origin: simple from one ovary, aggregate from multiple carpels, multiple from a cluster, accessory from non-ovary tissue.
In practice
A raspberry is aggregate, carpels fused from one flower; a pineapple is multiple, fused from a cluster.
Where people slip
An accessory fruit, like a strawberry, develops mainly from tissue outside the ovary — true fruit is only a small part eaten.
