Pollination Mechanisms and Pollinator Syndromes

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

A pollinator syndrome is a matched set of flower traits — color, scent, shape, reward — suited to a specific pollinator, extending Bio 2203's coevolution.

Show

Bat-pollinated flowers open at night, pale and scented; wind-pollinated flowers stay small, scentless, producing abundant lightweight pollen instead.

Watch for

A flower's syndrome predicts its typical pollinator statistically, not by guarantee — unmatched pollinators still occasionally visit.
