The idea
Temporal isolation is a prezygotic barrier in which two populations breed at different times, so individuals never encounter each other's fertile period.
In practice
Two related frog species sharing an area but breeding in different months never overlap in their fertile periods, a temporal barrier.
Where people slip
Temporal isolation blocks reproduction by timing alone — the populations may otherwise fully interbreed if timing matched.
