The idea
A counting model has no notion that an unseen sentence is plausible because its words resemble seen ones — no similarity ruler exists between words.
In practice
"The cat slept," never counted, scores zero — though cats resemble dogs and slept resembles sat in every text ever written.
Where people slip
The ruler problem returns from Unit 8 — and this time the ruler must be manufactured, not chosen.
