Analyzing and Interpreting Literature / Unit 8   AIL 0741 short lesson, about 20 seconds

Writing a Rhyme Scheme Down

Captions available

The idea

Assign A to the first line's rhyme sound and a new letter to each new sound. The exam prints schemes this way without explaining them, and writing one out is the fastest route to naming a stanza.

In practice

A new letter for each new sound.

Where people slip

Write it out; do not hold it in your head.
