Analyzing and Interpreting Literature / Unit 8   AIL 0733 short lesson, about 20 seconds

The Anchor's Set as a Map

Captions available

The idea

The anchor gives one poem per form: blank verse, ballad, dramatic monologue, ode, elegy, villanelle, free verse, haiku, sonnet and regular verse. That list is a serviceable map of what the exam expects, and this course has now worked or named every one of them.

In practice

Ten forms, one poem each.

Where people slip

The list maps the exam's expectations.
