Consonance
Captions available
The idea
Consonance is the repetition of consonant sounds anywhere in words rather than at their beginnings, as in the k sounds of struck a streak of luck. The glossary carries no headword for it. Distinguish it from alliteration by position: consonance need not fall at the start.
In practice
Consonants repeated, position free.
Where people slip
The glossary omits this term.
