Analyzing and Interpreting Literature / Unit 4   AIL 0324 short lesson, about 20 seconds

Lexicon: Admonitory

Captions available

The idea

Admonitory means warning or reproving, the manner of someone cautioning another against a course of action. Paired with loving it claims a speaker who warns out of care. Both halves must show: a warning without warmth, or warmth without warning, defeats the pair.

In practice

Warning, and meant kindly.

Where people slip

Both halves must be visible.
