The idea
Pinsky is the only poet to serve three terms as United States Poet Laureate, performs with jazz musicians, and translated Dante's Inferno. Collins, called the most popular poet in America by a newspaper, writes in a conversational, clever tone and edited the Poetry 180 anthologies.
In practice
Poetry aimed at a general audience.
Where people slip
Popular here is a description, not a judgement.
