What the Exam Asks You to Do With a Poem

The idea
The board prints a short poem or an excerpt and asks what it means, how it sounds, or what its speaker feels. Between thirty-five and forty percent of the exam works this way, its largest skill band. The questions reward a careful reader rather than a stocked memory.
In practice
The largest band on the whole exam.
Where people slip
Reading is tested here, not recall.
