The Hundred Days and Waterloo, June 1815

The idea
Louis XVIII, restored and unpopular, sent troops to arrest the escaped emperor in March eighteen fifteen; they defected. The Hundred Days ended at Waterloo in June against British and Prussian armies, and the witness counts ninety-four days on the throne.
In practice
One defection decided the return; one battle decided the end.
Where people slip
Waterloo was allied, not British alone.
