Gorbachev let the satellites go; the Wall fell in November nineteen eighty-nine and Germany reunited in October ninety. In August ninety-one a hardliners' coup failed, and in December the Union dissolved. Russia's shock therapy cut output forty percent. Yugoslavia broke into war from ninety-one.
