Titus, Domitian, and Dominus et Deus
Captions available
The idea
Titus, seventy-nine to eighty-one, faced Vesuvius, a fire and an epidemic and died of fever. Domitian, eighty-one to ninety-six, demanded to be called lord and god, terrorized the elite, built and administered well, and was assassinated.
In practice
Pompeii buried in seventy-nine, the witness's date.
Where people slip
Good administration and terror coexisted in one reign. The exam may ask either.
