Formal and Informal Education

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Formal education is learning academic facts through a designed curriculum; informal education is learning cultural values and behaviors through everyday participation in society.

Show

A student learns history from a textbook in class and, in that same classroom, learns an unwritten norm for asking a classmate on a date.

Watch for

Both channels teach at once; a classroom is never delivering only the formal curriculum.
