The Abrahamic Religions

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are called Abrahamic religions because each traces its lineage to Abraham, and each is monotheistic.

Show

The Torah, the corresponding first five books of the Christian Old Testament, and shared narrative material in the Qur'an illustrate the traditions' overlapping textual roots.

Watch for

Shared origin does not mean shared doctrine; the three traditions disagree sharply on the messiah's identity and arrival.
