Introspection and Its Limits
Captions available
The idea
Introspection is a trained report of one's own conscious experience, and it cannot be checked by a second observer.
In practice
Two trained observers in Wundt's laboratory describe the same tone differently, and no third measurement settles which report is right.
Where people slip
Unverifiable is not the same as false. Introspection failed as a method, not as a phenomenon.
